C4DISC Announces New Community Administrator

February 17, 2021 – The Coalition for Diversity & Inclusion in Scholarly Communications (C4DISC) has named Ana Maria Jimenez-Moreno, Ph. D. as Community Administrator to carry out day-to-day business for the growing organization and ensure the community is accomplishing its goals.

“I am thrilled to be joining C4DISC as it develops and grows. It is a privilege to serve those who have contributed so much to increasing diversity and equity in the scholarly community.” -Ana Maria Jimenez-Moreno, Ph. D.

As part of her role, Ana will be supporting operations of the Coalition’s key activities including the Toolkits for Equity project and the work of the Communications and Outreach Committee.

C4DISC is a community comprised of individuals, partners, signatories, and consortial groups such as societies and associations whose membership is composed of individuals, companies, or organizations, and whose mission and membership are related to scholarly communications. The Coalition was formed to discuss and address issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within our industry.

Working collectively, we can have a greater impact.

The Coalition for Diversity and Inclusion in Scholarly Communications (C4DISC) is an international alliance of scholarly communications organizations that is collaborating to work towards a common goal of increasing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in scholarly communications while valuing differences, welcoming diverse perspectives, learning from different communities, making space for marginalized voices, and eliminating barriers. Established in 2017, C4DISC’s vision is a socially just community that welcomes, values, and celebrates all who seek to contribute to scholarly communications.

Organizations can participate in C4DISC as members or partners, and individuals can contribute to C4DISC initiatives by volunteering for working groups and making donations. C4DISC is governed by a steering committee made up of representatives from member organizations. Host organizations, the Association of University Presses (AUPresses) and the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) provide accounting and technology support.

We welcome other scholarly communications organizations to join us. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact Ana Maria Jimenez-Moreno, Community Administrator.
